Hi! I'm Stef 👋 Last September, I started running, aged 41, having not run since school. Things escalated! I'm now training for the London Marathon in October 🙀 Read the full story

Got out while it wasn’t unbearably hot!

Bumped into one of my virtual team!

It’s weird that I’ve been working for a few months with a group of folks who (other than one person) I’ve never met.

So it was fun to suddenly bump into the designer I work with every day also off for some exercise.

This virtual working stuff has some strangeness to it!

Blue skies to end the day

3x 10k in 3 days

10.47 km01:385:39 min/kmStrava

Life is getting pretty busy. We’re three weeks away from launching the new version of Oak, so time is tight. Weekends including some work time again.

So I thought I’d try an experiment - cover the same distance, but split the long run up a bit.

This is the first time I’ve managed two back to back 10ks, and actually managed three. My knee doesn’t hurt, my thigh is fine, and generally I didn’t feel like not having a rest day in between was a problem. So this is new!

Sandman continues - maybe having an audio book is the new thing. I just zone out and am on auto pilot.

Photo is last night’s awesome sunset!

Surprised myself by getting up the hill

11.6 km01:04:285:16 min/kmStrava

The big scary hill near me is Crystal Palace. As M said a while back, it’s “brutal”!

I’m trying something new this weekend - spreading out the same distance I normally run across the weekend.

Yesterday, 10, today 11.5 and I’ll try similar tomorrow. Basically it’s become somewhat challenging fitting in the long run every weekend and it looks like I’ll have some weekend work again for the next month. 🙀

Sandman continues. Gosh - a lot darker than i remember it!

Muggy ten

Phew, it’s been a scorcher today and I’ve also been desk-bound most of the day so I was keen to get out. Felt strong, no pain in my leg, so I went a bit longer than I was expecting. It helped that I discovered that Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman is on Audible, so that was lots of fun reliving the first graphic novel. 🖤

Oh and new running vest - my first one which will take some getting used to. Arrived just in time!
